I'm pleased with the efforts of many students who have produced videos and audio programs this year.
It's been a mixture of new students and older students who have so far created and uploaded audio and video programs.
The latest video is a collaboration between a four-year print journalism program senior who taped our new visual art teacher's students creating decorations for the Hispanic Heritage Festival and a student who comes
to class one period who did the editing to create what is now online.
In fact, the video is this senior's second such work. She taped and edited the video that accompanies the Earth Day story from last spring. I'm proud of her efforts and of her setting an excellent example in accepting the challenges of what the journalism program offers.
There are several fine examples of videos that accompany stories and photos on this year's volume 18, and more will follow. Several now in production will be online soon.
There are also several audios posted online, and I'm proud of these students' efforts, also. One was created by a student who took on the challenge last year. Two of this year's audios are posted on the morning and afternoon 16 de septiembre stories, here and here. Scroll down some and you'll see the audio files.
I know eventually everybody will become comfortable with creating a variety of audio and video programming. I'll be doing more of these myself, posted as blogs.
Think of it this way: Journalism by its nature is like a big pot that people toss things into when you have something to contribute, and offers assistance when you need help with getting something done.
